Tallahassee Historical Society
April 10 Meeting

Join us for our monthly meeting on April 10 as we are joined by Dr. Colin Brady and our very own Will Gandy who will be discussing the history of our community's museum - the Tallahassee Museum!

In 1957, a group of teachers, several civic groups and other interested members of the community established the Tallahassee Junior Museum to offer school children enriching experiences with science, art, history, and world cultures. Come learn how the Junior Museum became the Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science - the flagship all ages cultural resource it is today.

This presentation from Museum Curators Colin and Will will explore how the Museum has grown alongside the community, has become a local staple, and has morphed into a beacon of regional history and natural science. It will also explore exciting plans for the future. There will even be an opportunity to see history firsthand as the Museum Curators bring a “treasure chest” with objects of interest and speak to proper collections practices.

Reception at 5:30; Program at 6:00.

If you are interested in being one of our food sponsors at a future meeting, contact Rebecca Cruz at rebeccacruz1515@gmail.com.
